Aje is an Orisa and one of the 401+ Irunmole that we worship that provides us with wealth, blessings and prosperity. This Orisa assists accumulating wealth and hinders the demise of a person's economic growth. Aje literally means wealth who is an Orisa within the Yoruba spiritual patheon. Olóòkun is also the parent of Aje and as mentioned before the Orisa of great wealth that resides at the bottom of the ocean. We Isese L’agba practitioners praise Olóòkun for the ability to give great wealth, health and prosperity to us all. However, the main function of Aje is to provide plentiful wealth and greater economic benefits for her followers. Aje is the only daughter of Olóòkun who respects Aje. For this is the reason Aje at times is referred as Aje Olóòkun. Therefore it is imperative to praise Aje before getting a favor from Olóòkun. We find Aje in the ocean as owo eyoo or cowries. Owo Eyoo were our form of money prior to the present forms of paper currencies.
Benefits of Possessing Aje
Aje provides wealth for her devotees in a very exclusive yet natural way. This Orisa of wealth blesses her devotees beyond their mates and companions in anything they do. Essentially, anyone with Aje will be blessed by the Orisa. We also praise Aje through specific physical representation and there must be a significant task the person is conducting that Aje Olóòkun is expected to bless plentifully. Ultimately meaning, Aje only assist people who help themselves.
